CANTO DE ANDARILHO

portuguese traditional music

In this journey between Lisbon and the Alentejo, these two friends reunite to give voice to themes from the traditional portuguese songbook, interpreting songs from Fado to Cante Alentejano, and also delving into the works of singer-songwriters like José Afonso, Fausto and Vitorino.

PRESS RELEASE - CANTO DE ANDARILHO

With humble origins and family experiences that reflect the culture of a very distinct region, the connection with Cante Alentejano since childhood, was crucial to Nuno Ramos in defining his path and musical identity.

The same family tradition marked Bruno Fonseca’s journey, who had an early exposure to traditional portuguese music and singer-songwriters, representing a significant part of portuguese cultural history.

In this duo, we can hear all the influences that have shaped the paths of these two musicians, where Nuno Ramos provides vocals and accompanies himself on the guitar, while Bruno Fonseca with his portuguese guitar, reflects a nearly daily experience in fado houses. We invite you to join these two wanderers on a journey through the roots of traditional portuguese music.
